The problem with online-only office tools
Browser-based office suites are convenient until the connection fails, the account is locked or the subscription lapses. Then the documents you wrote are out of reach. An offline suite keeps the program and the files on the same machine, so a document opens whether or not the internet does.
What is in the Aevornix Suite
Aev WordDocuments with styles, tables, images, headers, footers and comments; opens DOCX, ODT, RTF, Markdown and HTML and exports PDF.
Aev BookSpreadsheets and workbook analysis, opening XLSX and CSV.
Aev PresentPresentations and delivery, opening PPTX.
Aev SmartPDF reading and editing.
Aev ScheduleCalendars, recurring events and tasks, with ICS import and export and an agenda as PDF.
Aev BIData models and dashboards from CSV, XLSX and databases.
How it works offline
Each application runs on your PC and saves ordinary files to folders you choose. Autosave and recovery protect work in progress, and search runs across saved documents from Aev Word, Aev Book and Aev BI without a server. A range copied from Aev Book pastes into Aev Word as a linked table that refreshes when the workbook changes, all on the one machine.
Use cases
The suite suits work that happens away from reliable internet or that should stay on your own machine.
- Writing reports and coursework while travelling.
- Keeping client documents and financial workbooks off third-party servers.
- Presenting at venues where the Wi-Fi cannot be trusted.
- Opening existing Office files without a subscription.
Current limits
The Suite is in early access at version 1.4.0 and runs on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). It opens Microsoft Office formats, but import fidelity work is still in progress, so complex layouts may differ. Collaboration and enterprise controls are in development. If several people must edit one document at the same moment, a cloud suite does that today and the Aevornix Suite does not.
Offline suite or cloud suite
The choice is less about features than about where the work lives. A cloud suite suits teams who co-edit the same file at the same moment and who always have a connection. An offline suite suits people whose documents belong on their own machine, who travel, or who would rather not pay every year to keep opening what they wrote.
Many people end up with both: an offline suite for their own documents and a shared cloud space for the handful of files a group edits together. Because the Aevornix Suite opens standard formats such as DOCX, XLSX and PPTX, files can move between the two when they need to.
Pricing and comparisons
Buy the six applications together as the Aevornix Suite or individually, as one-time purchases under the licence tiers. For a side by side view, see the Aevornix Suite and Microsoft 365 comparison or alternatives to Microsoft Office. If cost over time is the question, look at office software without a subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Aevornix Suite need an internet connection?
No. The six applications run on your computer and save files locally, with no account and no server.
Can it open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files?
Yes. Aev Word opens DOCX, Aev Book opens XLSX and Aev Present opens PPTX. Complex files may not match exactly while import fidelity work continues.
Can I buy just one application?
Yes. Each application is sold on its own as well as in the Suite.
