Pricing model
Microsoft sells Microsoft 365 as a monthly or annual subscription. Its own comparison page also lists Office Home 2024, a one-time purchase for one PC or Mac with the classic desktop apps and no cloud storage.
The Aevornix Suite is sold only as a one-time licence. It is permanent for the major version you buy and includes maintenance updates for that version; a future major version is a separate upgrade. The licence tiers cover home, student, professional and business use.
Deployment and operating systems
Microsoft 365 runs on PCs, Macs, phones and tablets, and needs a Microsoft account to install and manage the subscription. The Aevornix Suite runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit) only, installs from the Microsoft Store and needs no Aevornix account.
If you need the same documents on an iPhone, an Android tablet or a Mac, Microsoft 365 covers that and the Suite does not.
Offline access and where documents live
Both run offline once installed: Microsoft states that its desktop apps are fully installed and do not need a connection to use. The difference is where files go by default. Microsoft 365 is built around OneDrive; the Suite has no cloud service, so documents are ordinary files in folders you choose.
That makes the Suite a fit for keeping business data local, and it means backups are your responsibility.
Capabilities and file support
Microsoft 365 includes Outlook and OneNote, Copilot AI features and Microsoft's collaboration services. The Suite covers documents, presentations, spreadsheets, business intelligence dashboards, PDF work and scheduling.
Aev Word opens DOCX, ODT, RTF, Markdown and HTML and exports PDF; Aev Book opens XLSX and CSV; Aev Present opens PPTX. Work on import fidelity is ongoing, so complex Office files may not open exactly as they were made.

Limitations to weigh
The Suite is in early access at version 1.4.0. Import fidelity, enterprise controls and collaboration are still in development, and there is no mobile or Mac version. Microsoft 365 offers real time co-authoring and cross-device access that the Suite does not.
Moving across
Existing DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files open in the Suite, so you can try it on real documents before deciding. Files saved in OneDrive need to be synced or downloaded to a local folder first. Some teams keep Microsoft 365 for shared work and use the Suite on machines where a subscription is not justified.
