Why people look for an Office alternative
The common reasons are cost over time, wanting documents kept off the cloud, and not wanting an account for every machine. Microsoft already sells a one-time option, Office Home 2024, for one PC or Mac, so the question is often about accounts and storage as much as price.
What Microsoft Office offers
Microsoft sells Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote in Microsoft 365 subscriptions for PCs, Macs, phones and tablets, with OneDrive storage and Copilot, and in Office Home 2024 as a one-time purchase for one PC or Mac.
The Aevornix option
The Aevornix Suite contains Aev Word, Aev Book, Aev Present, Aev Smart, Aev BI and Aev Schedule. Word opens DOCX, ODT, RTF, Markdown and HTML; Book opens XLSX and CSV; Present opens PPTX. Each application is also sold separately.

Who each suits
- Office suits people who need Outlook, Mac or mobile apps, live co-authoring or the full depth of Excel and Word.
- The Aevornix Suite suits Windows users writing, calculating and presenting on their own machine who want no account and no recurring charge.
Limitations and moving across
The Suite is in early access at version 1.4.0. Import fidelity, enterprise controls and collaboration are still in development, so complex Office files may not look identical. Try your own templates first, keep PDF copies of anything that must be exact, and download OneDrive files to a local folder before opening them.
