POS Software Without Monthly Fees

POS software without monthly fees is a till system you license once rather than paying for every month. Aevornix POS is sold that way: a one-time licence for selling, stock, purchasing and double-entry books on the shop's own Windows PCs, with card processing fees charged only by the payment provider you use.

Where POS costs come from

A point of sale system usually has several kinds of cost, and it helps to separate them.

  • Software: a monthly or annual fee per location or till, or a one-time licence.
  • Card processing: a fee per transaction, charged by the payment provider.
  • Hardware: the PC or terminal, receipt printer and cash drawer.
  • Add-ons: paid modules for stock, accounting or multiple sites.

How Aevornix POS is priced

Aevornix POS software is a one-time licence, permanent for the major version you buy, with maintenance updates for that version. Stock, purchasing, multiple tills and double-entry books are part of the product rather than separate subscriptions. If you take cards, your payment provider charges its own fees; the till never handles card numbers itself. Prices are on the product page, and the licence tiers set users and devices, with Business covering 5 named users on up to 5 business PCs.

What is included

What to weigh up

Subscription POS systems often bundle hosting, online stores and integrated card terminals. Aevornix POS runs on your own Windows PCs and does not include an online store. PayPal is not supported. The saving on software fees has to be weighed against those differences, and the Aevornix POS and Square comparison sets them out, including where Square does more.

Hardware you will need

Aevornix POS runs on a Windows PC at the counter. Receipts print to 58 mm or 80 mm printers using ESC/POS, or to PDF. Cash is recorded at the till, including foreign notes at rates the owner sets. If you take cards, you will need an account and terminal from a payment provider, which charges its own fees. More than one till needs the computers to reach each other on the shop network, or a server you run for the Sync Bridge.
