Pricing model

Excel is part of Microsoft 365 subscriptions and of the one-time Office Home 2024. Aev Book is a one-time licence and is included in the Aevornix Suite.

Workbooks and file support

Aev Book covers spreadsheets, formulas and workbook analysis. It opens XLSX and CSV, so budgets, stock lists and exports from other systems open directly. Workbooks that rely on macros, Power Query, pivot features or add-ins should be tested first: import fidelity work is ongoing and Aev Book does not claim parity with Excel's advanced tools.

For dashboards and models built on the same data, Aev BI reads CSV, XLSX and databases on your computer.

Offline access and storage

Both run offline once installed. Excel under Microsoft 365 is designed around OneDrive; Aev Book saves workbooks as files where you choose and has no cloud service of its own.

Where each fits

  • Excel fits heavy analysis, shared workbooks, macros and cross-platform use.
  • Aev Book fits everyday spreadsheets on Windows, such as budgets, lists and simple models, bought once and kept local.
