Why people look for a Notion alternative
Notion stores workspaces in its cloud and makes pages available offline when they are marked for it. People who travel, work on unreliable connections or need data to stay on company machines look for a workspace that is local by default.
What Notion offers
Notion has free and paid plans with web, desktop and mobile apps. Its guide says pages can be edited offline once marked available offline, that Business and Enterprise plans download recent and favourite pages automatically, and that embeds, forms and buttons do not work offline.
Key differences
| Aevornix Workspace | Notion | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | One-time licence, permanent for the major version bought, with maintenance updates for that version. | Free, Plus, Business and Enterprise plans; paid plans billed monthly or yearly. |
| Where data is kept | Files and data stay on your computer; no Aevornix server. | Offline changes are saved locally and sync to Notion the next time the device connects. |
| Collaboration | Folder based; live co-editing is not built. | Paid plans add features such as private teamspaces, granular database permissions and SAML SSO (Business). |

The Aevornix option
Aevornix Workspace covers pages, collections with custom properties, filters, grouping and computed columns, tasks with dependencies and repeats, and dashboards. It opens Aevornix Forms, Aevornix Automate and the Suite applications, and backs up to a single file you can restore anywhere.
Limitations and moving across
Workspace is at version 1.3.0 on Windows only, with no live co-editing and no screen reader pass yet. Suite documents are opened and saved as files rather than stored inside the workspace. Move content across page by page, starting with what you most need offline.
